Surrender

Hi friends!

Something a little different today. I wrote a poem, way back in August of 2020. It still rings true today, perhaps even more so now than it ever did. I wanted to publish it, in case there is anyone out there who needs to hear this as much as I. <3

SURRENDER

by Gabriella Jane Ambrey

Into your hands, I commit my life;

All praise, glory, struggle and strife.

Onto your palm, I release my fair.

I also release things I hold dear.

Thinking of my future, hopeful, bright,

Certain careers, far-off or in-sight;

Again, I place them down upon You:

"Please take them, Lord. You know what to do."

Gently, I give You my deep-held dreams;

One look at them, my face just beams.

Yet still, I trust Your care more than mine

So those treasured hopes I now resign.

Another hope I extend to You,

This one, You'll notice, isn't new.

Someone I hope who will share my life;

The wish to become a mother, wife...

Trembling, my hand almost hesitates,

For one more treasure still awaits.

"Oh Lord, with my family, please take care.

To say goodbye would be hard to bear."

Into Your hand, I give everything,

Even my heart, I now will bring.

Upon your hand, You have my full soul

And without You, it would not be whole.

Somehow, without the burden so high,

I'm more ready to say goodbye.

If You should take me, that is okay;

You hold my heart with You anyway.

Please pry off my fingers holding fast

If what they're holding doesn't last.

Instead, grasp my hands, and I will know

My hands are full, for You love me so.
